Whether it be date night or dinner with friends (or dinner with some new folks) the LBD (little black dress) is a great go-to piece. The dress pictured in the two looks below happens to be one of my favs and was listed in a recent "top 10 fall favs" I did on Instagram. In the first look I layered the denim jacket over the short-sleeved dress and added a great statement necklace for the extra "sass".
In the second look, same idea but this time I added the denim layer underneath by using a great basic denim shirt. I finished the look with the same necklace.
Footwear was next. I love choices :) I start with opaque black tights and finish off with either my favorite MaryJanes from Kork-Ease or my brown leather boots. If you know me at all, you know that I love the versatility of denim pieces. By combining the denim with the sass of the necklace you have a great style in both looks which shows off just enough sass - not too casual and not too dressy or stuffy. The footwear choices help complete the look perfectly. The details on the boot, the style of the shoe both help keep your LBD from going "country" (you know you know what I mean). I love giving the dress as many chances as possible to be worn time and time again yet never look the same.
